Parmi les grands perdants? La BBC, notamment. Le g\u00e9ant groupe de m\u00e9dias publics britannique est depuis quelques ann\u00e9es incapable de suivre le rythme impos\u00e9 par les grandes cha\u00eenes payantes en mati\u00e8re de diffusion de sports. Face \u00e0 l\u2019inflation des droits TV, la BBC contre-attaque. La solution : diffuser du sport exclusivement en ligne et investir dans les disciplines dites \u00ab\u00a0de niche\u00a0\u00bb. Des sports \u00ab\u00a0mineurs\u00a0\u00bb qui seront mis en valeur sur ses services en ligne. Le 3 novembre 2017, la cha\u00eene britannique a en effet annonc\u00e9 qu\u2019elle diffuserait plus de 1 000 heures suppl\u00e9mentaires de sport via son application \u00ab\u00a0BBC Sports\u00a0\u00bb et son service de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision de rattrapage \u00ab\u00a0iPlayer\u00a0\u00bb. Ainsi, la ligue de basket britannique, la ligue de football f\u00e9minin ou le tennis en fauteuil roulant se verront accorder une place de choix. Son objectif : faire d\u2019une soit-disant faiblesse (des sports suppos\u00e9s moins \u00ab\u00a0t\u00e9l\u00e9g\u00e9niques\u00a0\u00bb) une force, en se d\u00e9marquant de la concurrence. Reste \u00e0 voir si le contre-pied trouvera le petit filet dans le match du business audiovisuel.
